It's all fun and games until your pants don't fit!

Well well well...

This is exactly what happened to me about a year ago. If you read my first blog entry you know that I lost over 50 pounds about 10 years ago. Once I became a Nurse however and began to work shiftwork the pounds were again creeping up on me.  I have a theory that your body will always try to get back to it's highest weight no matter what. I believe this is true because fat cells cannot be destroyed, they can only shrink so it is easier to fill those already made fat cells than to create new ones. This is why some of us will have a lifelong struggle with our weight while others don't have to think twice about it.
I was going out and drinking way too much and my diet was returning to its old state, carb overlaod. Not only does alcohol slow down your metabolism but it also causes you to make poor choices when it comes to food. I know I'm guilty for downing a couple glasses of wine and next thing you know I'm yelling across the room "lets order the nachos!!!" true story ha ha ha. Anyways one too many all inclusive s and my short lived party girl lifestyle caused me a gain of 15 pounds. It went straight to my stomach...gulp. Thats when I decided to quit drinking and adopt my clean eating lifestyle. I am no longer drinking and that alone makes me feel great! It almost gives me a sense of empowerment knowing that I don't have to drink to have a good time and the greatest thing is I don't have to feel like crap in the morning.
I'm not saying you can't have wine in moderation. In fact you can actually work it into your diet. I'm just gonna stress MODERATION LOL!!!!
